JULY 2010 AWARENESS Teens learn evidence based brief intervention program created by Dr. Ken Winters and his colleagues at the University of Minnesota. Marie and Dr. Winters continue to collaborate on the pilot and additional components that are tailored to the awareness program. The program is delivered by volunteer teens to other teens and their parents.

AWARENESS has a pilot Ignition Interlock Program thanks to Lifesafer Inc. Teens who want to install an interlock prior to receiving a DWI may get a free six-month trial dependant upon availability.Unfortunately no one ever thinks they will drink and drive, we also allow teens that choose to get a device directly after a driving offense before the court mandates it.
