Over the past year what we have witnessed is remarkable.
Give a child responsibility and they become responsible.
This program has the potential to not only impact underage drinking and substance abuse but to stop the labeling of kids by kids to determine who is considered “popular”.
When kids feel acceptance from older students they no longer need to care what their own age group thinks of them. This raises self-confidence and along with inclusion, kids will not grow up feeling ridiculed every day. Extreme cases contributing to these horrors are the Columbine HS and Virginia Tech shootings. |
